Im Fokus steht die Betrachtung verschiedener Transportwege, -methoden und -verpackungen. Die Forschung untersucht die Umweltauswirkungen und Kosten der internationalen Weinverteilung. Dabei werden verschiedene Optionen analysiert, um den Kohlenstoff-Fu\u00dfabdruck und die Sulfatemissionen zu berechnen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass es erhebliche Unterschiede zwischen den verschiedenen Szenarien gibt. Insbesondere die Seeschifffahrt hat in den meisten F\u00e4llen einen gr\u00f6\u00dferen \u00f6kologischen Fu\u00dfabdruck als der Binnenverkehr innerhalb des Vereinigten K\u00f6nigreichs. Allerdings k\u00f6nnen Schienenverladungen aus Italien mit Flexitanks eine Ausnahme darstellen. In Bezug auf Sulfatemissionen stellt sich heraus, dass die kosteng\u00fcnstigste Seefracht-Option auch diejenige mit den geringsten Sulfatemissionen ist.
